Today residents of Corentyne Berbice who are still recovering from the most deadliest smash up in their region, are calling for sleeping Policemen to be placed along the roadways. Speaking to reporters today the residents explained that more traffic patrols are needed to prevent the constant speeding by drivers particularly minibus operators. One resident explained that the nation need to speak out collectively since people continue to die like animals on the roadways. He said that people will continue to perish if immediate measures are not taken. One woman said that the Police need to use their speedometers often and charge drivers when they are caught speeding. The residents are also calling on lawmakers to put stricter penalties in place against road offenders. Over the weekend two more persons died in separate accidents carrying the death toll past last year figure of 105.
