Today relatives of the 12 persons who perished in the worst accident in the ancient county are calling for the truck driver to face maximum penality for his recklessness. They told reporters that he should be jailed for life for causing the death of so many. Overwhelmed with sorrow, the father of 19 year old Nazaidin Mohammed whose body was broken like many others who met a gruesome end said that the driver made the worst mistake of his life and that he can never live with the guilt of being responsible for the death of all those persons. Police are expected to charge the truck driver for speeding, reckless driving and causing multiple deaths. The Government will be working with the Police to implement measures to stop the lawlessness on the roadways, according to Minister Leslie Ramsammy, who visited relatives of the dead yesterday.
