Minister Priya Manickchand revelations about the findings of an investigation into Human Services Ministry’s handling of Neesa Gopaul’s case and her subsequent action to dismiss two case workers are getting a lot of attention by the public this morning. As was expected opposition party members continue to call for her dismissal saying that the blame should be shared equally and that the Minister is as much responsible for failing the 16 year old as the two fired staff members. In Thursday’s press conference the Minister gave a long speech about the failures of the officers found guilty of negligence. Some shared the view that the Minister made the right move , but must investigate further since there might be a lot more cases of abuse that were neglected. TrakkerNews understands, that the case workers apart from the findings which found them culpable, may have been bribed by Gopaul’s mother to hind previous medical tests carried out. These tests according to the dead girl’s grandfather proved that she was being drugged by her stepfather.
