The Guyana Trade Union’s (GTU) sixth Triennial congress continues today under the theme “Facing the challenges of climate change for workers’ progress.”
Guyanese President Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo’s climate change initiative was once again indorsed.
At the Union’s opening of the congress last night, the President praised the union’s leader, Carvil Duncan for the theme selected, calling on all Guyanese for climate change to be a national crusade.
The President charged that it was up to Guyanese to ensure that climate change does not become a tool of the developed world, noting the attitude of the first world to a crisis that they significantly contributed to in the first place.
