GECOM Boss urging citizens to uplift New ID cards

Chairman of the Guyana Elections Commission Dr. Steve Surujblly is calling on Guyanese to collect their new identification cards. Surujballi explains that January 2011 the old ID cards will be descended by GECOM, a constitutional move.

He also pointed out that the new cards are the only form of identification that will be accepted for the 2011 general elections.
GECOM has over 60,000 ID cards in their possession that persons have not collected, however there will be some 120 persons in mobile across the country to distribute ID cards.
