Government Senator David Abdulah says he does not expect any fall out following his decision to join public officers in their protest yesterday.
Abdulah, who is also the president of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions and Non-Government Organisation (FITUN), joined fellow labour leaders in a show of support yesterday in a protest orchestrated by the Public Services Association (PSA).
Yesterday’s march which began outside the Ministry of Finance Independence Square and ended outside the Chief Personnel Officer’s (CPO) St Vincent Street office was held to protest a one per cent wage offer by the CPO.
Abdulah’s show of support is believed to be the first time a member of the Government has joined a march against the State.
He however says that the People’s Partnership Government is not vindictive and would not result in him being disciplined in any manner.
