Charlestown chopped victims stable in Hospital

Shawn De Souza and Radesh Persaud are in a stable condition at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) after they survived from the hands of a 42 year old man who was on a chopping spree this morning.

The police reported thisafternoon that the man first entered the home of Cedric Blackman, 72 years, of 57 Russell and Howes Streets, Charlestown, and chopped him to his head and neck. He then came out onto the roadway and attacked Ann Cham-a-Kon, 38 years, of 60 Russell Street, chopping her to the neck.
 
The man also attacked Shawn De Souza, 41 years, of 58 Howes Street, chopping him to his right shoulder and left side neck; and Radesh Persaud, 41 years, of 60 Russell Street, Charlestown, chopping him to his head.
 
Cedric Blackman and Ann Cham-a-Kon were pronounced dead on arrival at the GPHC.
The man has been arrested and is in police custody as the investigations continue.
 
The cutlass suspected to be used in the incident has been recovered by the police.
