Government will assist Amerindians to become computer literate

Amerindian communities will soon benefit from a two year programme that will be set up to have computer centres in their villages. President Bharrat Jagdeo speaking to Amerindian Village leaders this morning, said money will be budgeted to acquire computers and recruit teachers to have the technology in Amerindian communities, similar to what was announced for every family along the coast to have a laptop.He stressed that both adults and children will have this opportunity. He said part of the LCDS money that will go to Amerindian communities will be used to install solar panels to provide electricity in the remote areas
