35.2 Million dollars to train 236 youths over the next 6 months.

The Board of Industrial Training (B.I.T), a subvention agency of the Ministry of Labour will be coordinating the Government of Guyana (GOG)/United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) /East Bank of Demerara Training Programme.
The programme involves the training of young people in a number of areas, including Office Administration, Mechanic, Electrical Installation, Cosmetology and Catering.

This is part of the National Training Project for Youth Empowerment (NTPYE) and the UNDP’s Enhanced Public Trust, Security and Inclusion (EPTSI) project.
The project is at a cost of 35.2 million dollars and will run for six months from today catering for some 236 youths.           
The Government of Guyana has transformed the Eccles Youth Centre into a training facility for youths of the East Bank of Demerara who have dropped out of school and who require skills for life and may be in need of employment. The facility will also house a department to assist young people in finding employment as well. 
The programme is a second agreement with UNDP/ Enhance Public Trust, Security and Inclusion Project and the Ministry of Labour, Human Services and Social Security.
