Over the next week, the Navy’s Project Handclasp will donate $132,000 USD worth of items which include medical supplies, school and household items to several schools across the Berbice area.
This mission is a partnership between the United States Navy in collaboration with several Christian organizations in the US and Guyana
Thomas Negus from the Navy team said this project is about building and sustaining relationships in the interest of better cooperation and collaboration when disasters hit.
This project is in its third year.
All donations will be transported to Berbice by military helicopters from a Navy Ship docked outside the Berbice River.
