Hundreds of devotees of Mother Durga rushed down to the Radha Krishna Mandir at Camp Street, Georgetown to get a glimpse of what many described as a miracle.
A red powder substance was emanating from different parts of the marble murti right in front of their eyes as they chanted bhajans to the supreme mother.
Pandit in charge of the mandir Rudranauth Sharma explained that this is the first time this has happened in Guyana, and it is a way to show that the devotee’s devotion is accepted by Mother.
The shocking discovery came a day after Hindus around the world fasted for ten days observing navratri for nine days and Vijay Dashmi the tenth day.
Navratri is the period to worship God in the form of Mother – Durga, Laxmie and Saraswatie.
Meanwhile the President of the Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha ,Reepu Daman Persaud visited the mandir tonight but did not commented on what he saw. He said this is the first time he experienced something like that.
