Bullets still lodged in robbery victim’s body – one week later

Four bullets are still lodged in the abdomen of Bridgemohan Khemlall, who is a patient at the high dependency unit of the Georgetown Public Hospital. This morning doctors told the parents of Bridgemohan that internal bleeding had stopped- something that was preventing the doctors from performing surgery to remove the bullets. Doctors are still saying however that it would take some time before a surgery can be done. Bridgemohan is one of the two brothers that were shot by bandits during a robbery at Cornelia Ida on October 7th. The other brother Premanandat has recovered from two gunshot wounds.

Police have arrested five suspects but to date no one has been charged.
