Information coming out of Police Headquarters today, is that more officers will be dispatched around the country aided by members of the various Policing groups and the possibility of army ranks. There are indications that a joint task force will be set up to tackle the alarming incidents of robbery and gun violence that continue almost daily. In the wake of more attacks this time in New Amsterdam Berbice, the police stated that it is sparing no efforts in finding those responsible. There have been few successful apprehensions in recent robberies, but the ranks are being cautioned by their seniors not to let that cloud their minds as they tackle the task ahead. Recently investigators were examining a link between robberies, suggesting that most of the attacks may be the work of one gang of mostly youngsters. Based on descriptions in at least 4 robberies of late, the authorities have a fair idea of a few suspects which they are currently hunting. According to information, the Police will set up road blocks in most access routes. There will be constant patrols in and around the back lands, where the criminals often escape to when being pursued.
