As investigators continue to find more clues in the brutal murder of Neesa Gopaul, the dead girl’s mother and her lover are looking at hard time behind bars or even the death sentence. The charge of murder against the duo, came almost a week after the decomposing body of the 16 year old was fished out of a creek on Soesdyke Highway. The charge carries a death sentence in the event of a conviction, something which the Government has not carried out in almost 2 decades. It will take several months for a Preliminary Inquiry to begin, by then it expected that sufficient evidence will be found to go to trial. The Police are still questioning persons in the matter, since there is the believe that more people may be involved in the murder.
