PRISON ESCAPEE RECAPTURED IN SURINAME

Georgetown: Rickford LaFleur, who was on remand for murder and possession or narcotics escaped from the New Amsterdam Prison on June 11, 2011. Forty three year old LaFleur was apprehended by Surinamese law enforcement officials and brought back to Guyana Thursday where he was handed over to the police. He's now back in custody at the New Amsterdam Prison.
