Georgetown : The Protected Areas Commission (PAC) has secured GY$ 9.2 Million to support the effective management of National Protected Areas Systems (NPAS) in Guyana from the Protected Areas Trust (PAT). The signing of the first Grant Agreement between the Institutions today followed approved financing by the Board of Trustees of the PAT for the proposal submitted by the PAC. The signing of this Agreement inaugurates the life-long relationship between the PAC, which is mandated to manage NPAS in Guyana, and the PAT, which was established to provide financing for NPAS under the same legislation, the Protected Areas Act of 2011.
