Two bar workers shot during robbery on their way home.

Georgetown : A 52-year-old Supervisor of Eccles New Housing Scheme who was in his vehicle, awaiting a female co-worker to safely enter her yard at Plantation Providence, EBD, about 2:30 a.m. today  was pounced upon and shot by a male suspect who was armed with a handgun and rode a bicycle.
 
He is presently admitted at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPHC) in a stable condition. The Co-worker, 34-years, a Cashier was then followed and relieved of a bag containing valuables by the said bandit who also discharged a round which struck her on the left hand and escaped. The bag was recovered with its content intact, in very close proximity. They both received treatment at the District Public Hospital. Thereafter, the woman was sent away whilst the man was transferred to the GPHC. The victims were returning from work at an East Coast Demerara entertainment Bar and Grill.
 
Investigators are making stringent efforts to apprehend the suspect.
